I am currently employed with Unisa as a Lecturer in Practical Theology. I have previously served at the Cape Town Baptist Seminary, my Alma Mater, as the Registrar: Administration. I completed my undergraduate degree in Theology at the Cape Town Baptist Seminary and continued my studies in Practical Theology by completing my masters in Practical Theology with a focus on Youth Ministry. I am currently enrolled in my doctoral studies through the University of Pretoria where I am continuing my research in the area of Youth Ministry in Practical Theology. My previous employment has been focused in the retail industry where I worked for Makro, CUM Books, Exclusive Books and Lux Verbi.BM. My ministry experience has seen me as youth leader and youth pastor at Silvertown Baptist and Emmanuel Baptist churches respectively. I have also been actively involved in the Western Province Baptist Youth (WABY) ministry which is a regional arm of Baptist Youth of Southern Africa (BYSA) and served on some specific ministries of which one of them was Infusion, a ministry where we assisted churches with struggling or no youth ministries in setting up certain infrastructure which involved training, marketing and recruitment processes, which was a great journey. I also served as a board member in Insight Community Project (ICP), a NGO which focuses on impoverished and youth on the fringe in Manenberg, a township in Cape Town, riddled with crime, violence and poverty. So that is where I have been, with many stops in between which I probably can’t remember or am unable to include. I am excited about this next leg of my journey. I can’t wait.
